My name is Ramin Mehrassa and I’m in my second year as the vice principal of Laity View Elementary in Maple Ridge, BC. I started my teaching career at Frank Hurt Secondary in Surrey by working in the Learning Disabilities program. After about 16 years at Hurt, I made a change by moving districts and started working at Laity View as a support teacher. My professional focus now is learning as much as I can about becoming a better leader. I’m really interested in the role of culture in schools and its effect on the whole community.
I’ve been married to my best friend for the same amount of time as I’ve been teaching and we have two wonderful kids. I come from a family of public educators; my wife and brother are both math teachers in the same district as myself. I consider myself fortunate as I really enjoy going to work every day.
